MPO members vote on the approval of all the federal transportation funding in the Cape Cod region. This includes the portion of funding the MPO has the direct ability to allocate to local transportation construction projects. It also approves transportation planning studies and technical assistance projects and work to provide continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive transportation planning for the region. The Cape Cod Commission provides administrative, and staff support for the MPO.

The Cape Cod MPO typically meets monthly at 1 p.m. on the third Monday. Meetings may be held in person or hosted virtually via zoom. MPO meetings are linked to the Cape Cod Commission's online calendar
