VIRTUAL WORKSHOP: Historic Preservation Roundtable

Note: The meeting will be held virtually, with all Cape town Historical Commission members participating remotely, pursuant to Chapter 20 of the Acts of 2021, An Act Relative to Extending Certain Covid-19 Measures Adopted During the State of Emergency, signed into law on June 16, 2021.

Meeting AGENDA

  1. Introductions: Commission staff, members of each Cape Cod town Historical Commission, and other participants will introduce themselves
  2. Review December 7, 2021 Roundtable meeting minutes: Attendees will vote on whether to approve the draft meeting minutes of December 7, 2021.
  3. Zoning Incentives for Historic Preservation: Commission staff will describe two recent efforts in West Harwich and Chatham to adopt zoning incentives that encourage historic building preservation:  the adopted West Harwich Special District and the proposed Chatham Draft Historic Incentive Bylaw.  Attendees may ask questions and discuss similar efforts on Cape Cod.
  4. Using Community Preservation Act (CPA) for Historic Preservation Projects: Attending members of Cape town Historical Commissions and Commission staff will discuss projects that are eligible for CPA funding, requirements for Preservation Restrictions on buildings that receive CPA funding, and share success stories and questions on historic preservation projects.  
  5. Future Meeting Topics: Participants may suggest topics for future meetings
  6. Adjourn
