- Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (“BUILD”) Grant Support Letter: Staff will provide an overview of a potential BUILD grant application for the Route 6 Corridor Improvement project in Eastham that staff are assisting the Town of Eastham prepare. Committee members may vote to submit a letter of support for the application.
- Functional Classification Designation Updates: Following the finalization of the 2020 Urbanized Area boundaries for Barnstable County, staff reviewed the functional classification designations for roadways affected by the updated boundaries and identified additional roadways for which updated designations are warranted. Staff will present, and Committee members may vote to release for public comment, the updates to these designations.
- Critical Urban and Rural Freight Corridor Designation Updates: Staff will provide an overview of the National Highway Freight Program and designated critical urban and rural freight corridors on Cape Cod. Staff will present, and Committee members may vote to release for public comment, updates to these corridor designations.
- Eastham-Orleans Route 6 Rotary Improvement Project: Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) staff and their consultant, Fuss & O’Neill, will present on the Eastham-Orleans Route 6 Rotary Improvement project that is currently under preliminary design. Committee members will provide feedback on the project including the proposed public outreach strategy.
- Federal Fiscal Years (October 1– September 30) 2027-2031 Transportation Improvement Program (“TIP”) Development: As part of the development of the 2027-2031 TIP, staff will present an overview of the transportation projects that are currently programmed on the 2026-2030 TIP, and an overview of projects that are eligible to be programmed onto the 2027-2031 TIP. The TIP summarizes the regionally significant transportation infrastructure projects receiving federal funding for construction over the next five fiscal years.
- Federal Fiscal Year (October 1 – September 30) 2027 Unified Planning Work Program (“UPWP”) Development: Staffwill provide an overview of the development of the 2027 UPWP which summarizes all significant transportation planning activities for fiscal year 2027 on Cape Cod. Committee members may ask questions and suggest potential tasks and studies for inclusion in the 2027 UPWP.
- Reports: Massachusetts Department of Transportation staff will discuss the status of the Transportation Improvement Program projects that are planned in the next five years. Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority staff will report on the status of current and future projects and initiatives to improve public transportation services on Cape Cod. Cape Cod Commission staff will report on upcoming public meetings and available grants.
