Climate Action Subcommittee Attendance at Stakeholder Working Group

Members of the Cape Cod Commission Climate Action Subcommittee may attend and may participate/deliberate at the Cape Cod Climate Initiative Housing and Development Stakeholder Working Group held on WednesdayDecember 16, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. to be accessed virtually as described below: 

Note: The meeting will be held virtually using the “Zoom” meeting platform, with all meeting participants participating remotely, pursuant to Massachusetts Governor Charles D. Baker’s Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law dated March 12, 2020.

Housing and Development Stakeholder Working Group Agenda:

  1. Welcome and Introductions
  2. Recap and Reflect on the Process to Date
    Cape Cod Commission staff will briefly review the Cape Cod Climate Action Plan development process to date, and stakeholder group participants will reflect on the progress made and process going forward.
  3. Review Updated Action Plan
    Cape Cod Commission staff will review the changes made to the goals, strategies, actions and steps in the Cape Cod Climate Action Plan, including how the input from stakeholders has been incorporated and identify any outstanding or critical questions. Staff from the Consensus Building Institute (CBI) will facilitate a discussion on equity considerations related to the Climate Action Plan. Stakeholder group participants will discuss these topics,  and refine them as needed.
  4. Identify Key Actors
    The Cape Cod Commission staff will review a summary of the legal and jurisdictional analysis done for the Climate Action Plan, and discuss identifying appropriate stakeholders by working group topic area to take action. CBI staff will facilitate discussion amongst stakeholder group participants to identify key actors for the identified actions and steps proposed for the Climate Action Plan.
  5. Identify Performance Measures
    Staff from CBI and the Cape Cod Commission will describe their approach to developing performance measures that can assess and document progress toward reaching the goals within the Climate Action Plan.  The Consensus Building Institute staff will facilitate discussion amongst stakeholder group participants to brainstorm and refine these measures.
  6. Public Comment
  7. Next Steps
    Cape Cod Commission staff will describe next steps for finalizing the Climate Action Plan, incorporating findings from the Economic and Fiscal Impact Analysis, and soliciting additional feedback. Working group members will have an opportunity to provide any final thoughts or ask questions.
