AGENDA: Barnstable County Coastal Management Committee

The meeting will be held by remote participation by the Barnstable County Coastal Management Committee pursuant to Massachusetts Governor Charles D. Baker’s Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law dated March 12, 2020.

  3. Review and approval of prior meeting minutes: April 14, 2020
  4. Cape Cod Commission staff updates: Heather McElroy, Natural Resources Program Manager, Cape Cod Commission will provide updates on water quality grants the Cape Cod Commission has applied for, and progress on the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs Resiliency Grant model coastal resiliency bylaw project.
  5. Barnstable County Coastal Resources Subcommittee: Shannon Hulst, Deputy Director, Cape Cod Cooperative Extension will review the discussion and activities of the Barnstable County Coastal Resources Subcommittee, including a report on its July 15, 2020 meeting.
  6. Barnstable County Dredging Program update: Jack Yunits, Barnstable County Administrator will provide an update on Barnstable County’s dredging program.
  7. Flood Factor Tool: Shannon Hulst will review the Flood Factor tool from First Street Institute, including some caveats and general awareness for use of the data.
  8. Outer Cape Intermunicipal Shoreline Management Framework project: Mark Borrelli, Director of the Center for Coastal Studies’ Seafloor Mapping Program will give an overview of this coastal resiliency grant project, a collaboration of the towns of Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet, and Eastham.
  9. Massachusetts Coastal Zone Management Resiliency Projects: Steve McKenna, Cape and Islands Coordinator for the Massachusetts Coastal Zone Management Office (MCZM) will provide an overview of the Fiscal Year 2020 projects funded by the MCZM Coastal Resiliency Grants program.
  10. Reports from members: Members will provide updates on relevant projects and activities and discuss current coastal management issues affecting Cape Cod
  11. New Business: Topics not reasonably anticipated by the Chair more than 48 hours before the meeting.
  12. Next Meeting: Committee members will discuss the schedule and agenda for their next meeting.
  13. Adjourn
