AGENDA: Barnstable County Economic Development Council

  2. Review and Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes: 11/5/2019
  3. Expedition Blue: Wendy Northcross, CEO of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, and Bert Jackson, Director of Community Outreach, project manager, will discuss the Expedition Blue project, which seeks to create a linked geographic trail of exhibits across Cape Cod that illustrates the diversity of Cape Cod’s blue economy. 
  4. Southcoast Marine Science and Technology Corridor: Hugh Dunn, executive director of the Southcoast Development Partnership at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, will discuss the efforts to establish a marine science and technology cluster in southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod.
  5. Economic Value of Cape Cod Harbors: Jennifer Clinton, Community Development Planner, will provide an update on development of a replicable model for assessing the economic and financial value of the region's harbors.
  6. Discussion and Recommendation of Continued Appointment: The Chair of the Barnstable County Economic Development Council (“BCEDC”) will lead the BCEDC in a discussion to assess current member's interest in serving on the BCEDC for an additional term and potentially vote to recommend the following members to the Barnstable County Commissioners for an additional term beginning January 1, 2020:   Christopher Flanagan,  Homebuilders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod; Tammi Jacobsen, Cape Cod Community College; Lauren Barker, Cape Cod Young Professionals; and Sheryl Walsh, Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod.   
  7. Discussion and Potential Vote on Letter of Support: Members of the BCEDC will discuss whether to support a funding request through the US Economic Development Administration Economic Adjustment Assistance grant funding for the disaster declaration of March 2-3, 2018.
  8. Cape Cod Commission Executive Director Update: Kristy Senatori will report on any recent staff activities.
  9. Member Reports: Barnstable County Economic Development Council members will report on any recent economic development activities.
  10. New Business: Topics not reasonably anticipated by the Chair more than 48 hours before the meeting.
