ACTIVE PROJECTS

HERRING RIVER RESTORATION PROJECT

Towns of Wellfleet and Truro

The project proposes to restore habitat in and return tidal flow to the 1,100 acre Herring River estuary system. The Secretary of EOEA issued a Certificate on the project’s Final Environmental Impact Report on 7/15/16; a hearing officer for the Commission opened the DRI hearing period for the project on 8/29/16. A DRI application for the project has not yet been received by the Commission and the DRI hearing period has been extended through 2017.

CAPE CLUB REDEVELOPMENT (FORMER BALLYMEADE COUNTRY CLUB)

Rte. 151, Falmouth

The project proposes redevelopment of a portion of the site with mixed use development (commercial accommodations and single family residential units). The town referred the project to the Commission as a mandatory DRI on 7/20/16; a hearing officer for the Commission opened the DRI hearing period for the project on 9/16/16. The initial application was withdrawn. A resubmitted application was approved by the full Commission on 3/2/17.

GREENSIDE OFFICE PARK REDEVELOPMENT

10 Attucks Lane, Barnstable (Hyannis)

The project proposes to redevelop a site currently used for trucking purposes with a two-building office park. The Committee on Planning and Regulations approved a limited DRI scope for the project, limiting review to the sole RPP issue area of Transportation safety. A pro-forma hearing is scheduled 6-9-17 at the Commission Offices to open the Limited DRI hearing period on the project for procedural purposes only. No substantive presentations will be made, no testimony will be taken and no substantive action will be taken regarding this project at this hearing.

MASHPEE CWMP

Town of Mashpee

The Secretary of EOEA issued a Certificate on the project’s Final Environmental Impact Report in late 2015; the Commission opened the DRI hearing period for the project on 7/14/15. The DRI hearing period on the plan has been  extended.

CAPE COD FIVE HYANNIS BANKING CENTER, HYANNIS

1520 Iyannough Road, Barnstable (Hyannis)

Proposed demolition of all existing buildings and structures, and subsequent construction of a 78,220 s.f. banking center and drive-up retail branch, parking garage, and associated site improvements. A subcommittee has held Public hearings on the application on 5/25/17 and 6/7/17.  The next subcommittee public hearing on the project has been scheduled for 6/28/17.

LAKESIDE COMMONS

Route 132, Barnstable (Hyannis)

The project seeks to modify a previous DRI decision with construction of a second office building, approximately 8,500 square feet, on the 1575 Iyannough Road lot. It will share the existing site driveway, but will be served by its own septic system, stormwater management system, landscaping and parking area of 27 on-site parking spaces. The Committee on Planning and Regulation will reviewed and potentially decide on the application at its 6/8/17 meeting.

ECO-SITE, LLC WIRELESS COMMUNICATION FACILITY

145 Route 130, Sandwich

Proposed construction of a 135 foot-monopole with six antennas and appurtenant equipment. A public hearing is scheduled for 5:30 p.m on 6/26/17 in the Human Services Building/Council on Aging, 270 Quaker Meetinghouse Road, East Sandwich, MA.

CAPE COD POTATO CHIP FACTORY RENOVATION AND EXPANSION

Breeds Hill Road, Barnstable (Hyannis)

S-L Snacks MA, LLC proposes to reconstruct and expand its existing visitor tour area and office space and create a new front façade along the westerly side with a new second story with a gross floor area of approximately 10,930 square feet, relocate the existing loading areas and construct an approximately 10,050-square-foot warehouse addition. The project also proposes additional site improvements. The applicant has filed an application to limit the scope of DRI review, which is under review by Commission staff.

HYANNIS COURTYARD MARRIOTT EXPANSION

Route 132, Barnstable (Hyannis)

Julia Hotel, LLC proposes to expand its existing 119-room hotel with a 31,470-square-foot addition that will provide a net increase of 49 hotel rooms. The project also entails a reconfiguration of the site drives, an expansion of parking areas, and other associated site and landscape improvements. The applicant has filed an application to limit the scope of DRI review, which is under review by Commission staff.
