Cape Cod Commission recently launched 3D Cape Cod: an interactive web scene application featuring 3D structures on Cape Cod. Functions include sunlight and shadows based on time of year and tree cover based on data gathered in the 2014 planimetrics acquisition. Besides being a useful tool for getting a unique perspective on existing conditions, the CCC has also used this data in future redevelopment planning efforts. Cape towns can request the models to use on their own or seek technical assistance from the Commission. The application was used most recently during the Eastham DCPC process.
