Pavement Condition Viewer
The map shows the most recent pavement condition data collected by Cape Cod Commission staff from 2022 to 2024 on municipal, federal-aid-eligible roadways on Cape Cod. The Cape Cod Commission pavement condition data is collected via windshield surveys. During the windshield surveys, pavement conditions are collected based on various pavement criteria and observed pavement distresses. Observers used a 1 – 5 rating system and make notations of distresses observed in the field. The following table is a summary of the pavement condition criteria collected by the Cape Cod Commission:
- Very Good to Excellent - New pavement with no cracking, rutting, raveling/ signs of wear
- Good to Very Good - No cracking, rutting, showing a little wear
- Fair to Good - Showing evidence or more wear and possibly repairs that are in good condition
- Poor to Fair - Evidence of cracking, rutting, serious wear
- Poor - Severe cracking, rutting, potholes
