The Cape Cod Commission will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Chatham Town Offices, Downstairs Meeting Room, 549 Main Street, Chatham, MA. This project will be reviewed pursuant to Sections 12(i) and 13(b) of the Cape Cod Commission Act and pursuant to the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act ("MEPA," G.L. c.30, secs. 61, 62-62H) for joint review by the Commission and State Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, MEPA Unit. The purpose of this hearing will be to gather information for the joint Commission Development of Regional Impact (DRI)/MEPA review and to comment on the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) prepared by the proponent. This notice is being published as required by Section 5 of the Cape Cod Commission Act and MEPA regulations.

Project Description: Comprehensive Wastewater Management Planning. This project includes a needs assessment, identification and screening of alternatives, a detailed evaluation of alternatives and associated costs, and a final recommended plan. The project results in an implementation plan to solve and manage wastewater related problems in the community.

The Cape Cod Commission (CCC) will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, May 29, 2008 beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the First District Courthouse, Assembly of Delegates Chambers, Route 6A, Barnstable, MA. On February 19, 2008 the CCC received from the Brewster Board of Selectmen a nomination seeking the creation of a District of Critical Planning Concern (DCPC) under Sections 10 and 11 of the CCC Act. On March 20, 2008 the CCC issued a decision accepting for consideration the nomination. The purpose of the public hearing will be to amend this decision. Specifically, on page 4, paragraph (f)(1), the decision is proposed to be amended to add the words "or deed" following the words "in a plan" to clarify the single-family residence exemption to the limited moratorium of the DCPC. This notice is being published as required by Section 5 of the Cape Cod Commission Act.
The location of the proposed district encompasses Brewster's Zones of Contribution to Drinking Water Wells (Zone IIs) located in southeastern and southwestern quadrants of Brewster and all land within Brewster that is within the Pleasant Bay Water Recharge Area. The boundary of the proposed district is delineated as the boundary of the Zone II/Wellhead Protection Areas in the Town of Brewster as well as the boundary of the Pleasant Bay Watershed that lies within the Town of Brewster. The exact boundaries are shown on maps submitted with the application.
