BARNSTABLE COUNTY, MA--The Cape Cod Commission transportation staff will sponsor the first in a series of public informational meetings to discuss implementation of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation's 2008 Hyannis Access Study.

DATE: Wednesday, June 30, 2010
TIME: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
PLACE: Barnstable Town Hall, 367 Main Street, Hyannis, MA

"The first step in implementing the Hyannis Access Study is to outline a 'preferred alternative' for the Airport Rotary, Route 28, and a short section of Route 132," explains Cape Cod Commission Transportation Engineer Glenn Cannon.

A 42-member task force has been formed to guide the process for selecting the "preferred alternative" for roadway improvements at the Airport Rotary and Route 28. Members include municipal staff and officials from the towns of Barnstable and Yarmouth, area businesses and residents, representatives from chambers of commerce, transportation providers, regional transportation agencies, and others.
