The Cape Cod Commission, the regional planning and land use regulatory agency for Barnstable County (Cape Cod), periodically has position openings in a variety of environmental, scientific, technical, and administrative fields.
Current Opportunities:
- Regulatory Officer I: Maintains Commission's DRI filing system and regulatory calendar form. Develops and keeps multiple project time line and tracking systems. Assists the public and Commission staff with requirements of the regulatory process; coordinates hearings and public meetings; compiles information and statistics; assists in training Commission staff in regulatory planning procedures. Takes minutes of regulatory hearings and meetings. Assists in coordination of an assigned DRI review process with towns, abutters, developers, Commission members and technical staff. Prepares staff reports on the regional impacts of proposed projects and draft decisions for review and revision by Commission members. Requires knowledge of regional environmental planning and environmental protection principles as well as general legal and office procedures; excellent oral and written communication skills, organization skills and skill at managing details. Ability to participate as a member of a team of regulatory officers, planners, engineers and technical staff; ability to prepare reports. Bachelor's degree in planning, community development, law, environmental science or related field; minimum of one year of experience in regional planning, land use planning, environmental planning and or regulatory work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. $48,948/yr.
