Approve Minutes

Potential vote to approve the draft minutes from the December 19, 2018 meeting

Chair and Member Reports

The Chair and Barnstable County Economic Development Council (BCEDC) members will report to the group on activities, events, or current initiatives that may impact or be of interest to the group.

Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy’s (CEDS) Five-Year Update 2019-2024 – Release of Draft Document for Public Comment – Discussion & Possible Vote

Cape Cod Commission staff will present the Draft CEDS 5-Year Update document to the Barnstable County Economic Development Council (BCEDC) and review the public outreach process planned for the public comment period. The BCEDC will discuss the draft document, may ask staff questions and potentially vote to approve the draft CEDS 5-year update document for release to the public for a 30-day comment period.  Members will have an opportunity to discuss the outreach efforts planned for the public review phase and provide suggestions on this process.

Cape & Island’s License Plate Grant Subcommittee – Discuss & Possible Vote

The Barnstable County Economic Council (BCEDC) members will discuss, nominate and  potentially vote to recommend that the Barnstable County Commissioners appoint three members and two alternates from the BCEDC to serve on the Grant Subcommittee, a committee that will make recommendations on grant applications that utilize funds raised by the Cape Cod and Island’s License plate fees.

Council Member Nominating Process – Discuss & Possible Vote

Cape Cod Commission staff will present the Barnstable County Economic Council (BCEDC) with a draft procedure for filling vacancies on the BCEDC; BCEDC members will discuss the draft document, may ask staff questions and potentially vote to recommend approval of the draft procedure by the Barnstable County Commissioners.
