Comprehensive Economic Development Council Working Group Meetings
The Cape Cod Commission and the Barnstable Economic Development council are holding working group meetings as part of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) update: the development of a tactical 5-year Action Plan designed to move the region closer to a balanced, sustainable and resilient economy.
The working groups reflect the major elements of economic and business development - Infrastructure, Sector and Workforce Development, and Business Development and Climate. Working groups will identify projects or initiatives that operationalize the set of regional priorities identified at the Stakeholder Kick-Off Meeting on January 31, 2019. Some of the priorities identified include housing diversity, development of wastewater infrastructure in activity centers, zoning and regulatory reform, and a strategy for last mile broadband. Over the course of two meetings, participants will discuss regional priorities, brainstorm project ideas, refine them based on a series of criteria, and identify milestones and measures to guide implementation.
A brief description of each of the working group and the date and time of the first meeting are included below. All meetings will take place at the Cape Cod Commission offices (3225 Main Street, Barnstable, MA).
Infrastructure - The infrastructure group will assess regional infrastructure and consider issues of availability, access, capacity, reliability, efficiency of operation and maintenance, and cost.
First Meeting: Tuesday, February 26, 1:00-2:30
