FIRST ENCOUNTER BEACH, EASTHAM -- Purchased through the Cape Cod Commission Bike Rack Program.

The Cape Cod Commission has funding available for its Bicycle Rack Program, which extends through June 30, 2018.

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The program provides Barnstable County’s fifteen municipalities and other public entities the opportunity to install modern bicycle parking infrastructure on public property within the region at a reduced cost.

It provides full reimbursement for:

  • bicycle racks
  • related bike infrastructure (e.g. repair stations and shelters)

Installation and shipping costs are borne by eligible applicants as part of the local match funding mechanism.

This year the Cape Cod Commission joined the Metropolitan Area Planning Council's (MAPC) collective procurement contract for bicycle parking racks and related infrastructure. MAPC contract pricing provides special discounts from vendors’ respective list prices. The MAPC pricelist is valid until December 31, 2018. Please note that reimbursement through the Cape Cod Commission program is only available until June 30, 2018

This program is funded through the Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Transportation Improvement Program using federal and state Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funds. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will provide program funding through the Cape Cod Commission.

Please refer to the attached Participation Guidelines document for more information about the program.  Please note that applications will be accpted on a first-come, first served basis.
