Works with staff and stakeholders to communicate complex information related to the economy, housing, infrastructure planning, environment, coastal resilience and other regional issues. Ability to visualize data, prepare public presentations and create graphic media. Supports public education through media outlets and by addressing local and regional officials and community groups. Ability to manage projects, plan, organize, analyze problems, formulate recommendations, and prepare reports. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of public and private groups including elected officials.

Requires superior communication, organization, writing, public presentation and graphics skills, and independent judgment and initiative. Bachelor’s degree in economics, regional or urban planning, communications, public administration or related field plus three to five years of experience at the local, regional or state level; master’s degree preferred; combination of private and public sector experience desirable; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Traffic Counting Technicians - Summer Season - $22.00/hr See job description.

Two to three positions available for the Summer 2024 season (mid-May to late August) to set up traffic counters and collect and process data collected from the counters; manage the traffic count database; assist in the Regional Transportation Planning Process; conduct turning movement counts at selected Cape Cod intersections perform speed studies and assess roadway pavement conditions. The ideal candidates will have completed at least one full year of technical courses related to the position (engineering, transportation planning), willing to work in a team environment and be familiar with Microsoft Windows, Office, spreadsheet/database programs and Geographic Information Systems.

Valid motor vehicle operator's license and access to a reliable vehicle to perform field work as well as the ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs. required.
