Regulatory Officer II

This position requires knowledge of regional environmental planning and environmental protection principles as well as general legal and office procedures; excellent oral and written communication skills, public presentation skills, organization skills and skill at managing details. Ability to participate as a member of a team of regulatory officers, planners, engineers and technical staff; ability to prepare reports; ability to manage projects and work independently.


Knowledge of Massachusetts laws regulating land development very helpful including MEPA, zoning laws, subdivision laws, wetlands protection laws, Code of Cape Cod Commission Regulations and Cape Cod Commission Act. Microsoft Project expereience helpful.

Bachelor’s degree in planning, environmental science, coastal studies, law or related field; Master’s degree or Juris Doctor preferred; minimum of one year of experience in regional planning, land use planning, environmental planning and or regulatory work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Hydrologist - Scientist/Engineer

To assist the water resources program in its efforts to protect and restore the quality of the Cape’s groundwater and surface waters. Multi-task position in a technical assistance and regulatory program including non-point and point source loading assessments, wastewater, watershed and storm water management, water supply protection, and restoration of surface waters.

Position requires an MS or civil engineering degree with 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate should have proven quantitative skills including Excel and ArcMap and other water resource programs. Excellent communications skills and familiarity with water resource/engineering field work and knowledge of Cape Cod and state and federal water resource regulations and policies.
