Regional Transportation Plan (RTP)

The Regional Transportation Plan, a long-range comprehensive plan, is the primary means by which federal and state funds are allocated to the Cape's transportation needs. The Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), a collaboration of local, regional, state, and federal transportation officials, votes on this federally required document, which is compiled and maintained by the staff of the Cape Cod Commission. It is updated every four years.

Cape Cod 2020 Regional Transportation Plan Development

The Cape Cod MPO is expected to release the Cape Cod 2020 Regional Transportation Plan in early summer 2019 following review and consideration of public comments.  Public input is critical in the development of this document and the Cape Cod MPO encourages broad-based participation in the process.

This webpage will include announcements of public meetings and workshops.

Please take the linked survey to provide input for the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) update.

Mapping problem locations

Help us identify transportation problems and potential solutions at specific locations on Cape Cod.

For each problem location, you can specify the type of issue (e.g., traffic safety, traffic congestion, bicycle/pedestrian, public transportation or other) and any comments you’d like to share.  Locations can be specified either by entering an address or by placing a marker on the map.

After enting the information, click on “Submit another entry.”  You can pick as many locations as you like.
